About Kerry Howard
Born and raised in Colorado, I learned to love nature, animals and photography at a young age. I slowly moved north and west, and landed in Juneau in 1981 where I have lived ever since. Earning a BA in Environmental Biology, an MS in Forest Ecology, and an MPA in Resource management, I had a successful 30+-year career in the natural resources field. I retired in 2011 and started spending more time pursuing photography.
I developed a tremor in my hand in 2015, I was ultimately diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2016. Although photography is more of a challenge as the disease progresses, the joy it provides overcomes many difficulties. In addition to nature photography, I also volunteer my skills at the local humane society to try to help shelter animals find good homes.
