Parkinson’s has made it a priority for me to dedicate time, resources, and energy to bringing beauty into my life; part of that is acting on my own creative impulses. I love working with images, so photography is high on my list; I also love color, which shows up in my use of UV-activated textile dyes, colored pencils, ink on paper, etc.; sometimes the two come together in collage, or show up as original bookmarks, cards, magnets, mouse pads, etc.,. I’m also a writer, mostly of non-fiction flash-essays, along with poetry and memoir. It’s glorious, and sometimes bittersweet, discovering how much I still have to say, and getting it out there.
