About Sandra
In my poem “My last Trip” I wanted to confront the elephant in the room. The trip the no one wants to talk about. I was thinking about the Parkinson’s family and the patient and his or her diagnosis, as the families first instinct is to question and talk about medications, doctors and options.
But, for the patient the diagnosis takes you from thinking about different medications to the elephant in the room or what I called in my poem “My last Trip.” As a result, I hope to share with my loved ones and the readers the journey of “My Last Trip” the trip we all one day will embark on.
